President Andrés Manuel López Obrador landed in Villahermosa, and attends an evaluation meeting with his security cabinet to review the situation in the state due to the floods caused by the latest rains and the release of the Peñitas press.
López Obrador arrived in the capital of Tabasco, his home state, on a Mexican Air Force plane, accompanied by the Secretary of Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, after suspending his working tour of this entity.
On Friday, the president alerted his countrymen that the release of the Peñitas press would continue and asked them to take refuge in the highlands and shelters, and said that the material damage would have a solution.
According to sources from the Presidency, the evaluation meeting held in Villahermosa will depend on whether the president will resume his work tour of Nayarit and Sinaloa.
This is the second time that the president suspends a weekend work tour to attend to an emergency.
The first time was on January 19, 2019, when a clandestine gasoline outlet exploded in Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, leaving more than 137 dead and more than a hundred injured.
