Durango will have 338 medical specialists to attend the pandemic

DURANGO

In Durango, 338 specialist doctors will be hired more to attend the health emergency due to COVID-19 with the implementation of Health for Wellbeing Model (SABI) based on primary health care.

The governor of the state José Rosas Aispuro Torres, appreciated the immediate response of federal government to address the problem.

“The most important thing is to save lives, so we celebrate the sum of efforts with the Government of the Republic, to protect the health of Durango,” said the state president.

It was Friday when he met with the director of the Salid Institute for Wellbeing (INSABI), Juan Ferrer Aguilar and the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), Zoé Robledo Aburto.

Aispuro Torres, thanked the prompt response with the authorization of 338 specialist and general physicians, nursing personnel, radiologists, chemists, orderlies and drivers for the Gómez Palacio and Durango hospitals, as well as the opening of 88 beds for COVID-19 care in the Health Secretary; in addition to the 130 that the IMSS will support, of which 40 will go to the Laguna Region, the Governor indicated.

The state president, joined the recognition that Juan Ferrer Aguilar and Zoé Robledo Aburto, made to all the Durango medical staff, who affirmed, make a great effort before this contingency.

He added that, in an agreement with Ferrer Aguilar, specialists from the National Institute of Nutrition and the National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER), will come to Durango to train general practitioners and nursing staff so that they can reinforce care in this health emergency.
