President Andrés Manuel López Obrador arrived shortly after 12:30 p.m. at Villahermosa Airport aboard a plane from the Secretariat of National Defense to carry out an assessment of the floods that are registered in the entity due to recent rains and the vent of the “Peñitas” dam.
The head of the Executive flew from Nayarit in the company of the Secretary of National Defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval.
At the Villahermosa López Obrador Airport, he was received by the governor of Tabasco, Adán Augusto López Hernández and the national coordinator of Civil Protection, Laura Velázquez Alzúa, who will evaluate the situation in the entity, where the vent of the dam and the flooding of rivers in the mountains foresees an increase in flooding in the lower area of Tabasco.
In addition, in Tabasco the Secretary of the Navy, Rafael Ojeda; the director of the National Water Commission, Blanca Jiménez; and the director of the Federal Electricity Commission, Manuel Bartlett.
The president boarded a helicopter to fly over the affected areas.
