The Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio will replace the injured Ansu Fati in the Spanish national team for his next Nations League matches, the Spanish federation reported on Sunday.
Fati injured his left knee on Saturday in the 5-2 victory of his club Barcelona over Real Betis for the Spanish La Liga.
The Barça club reported that The 18-year-old forward suffered a tear in the medial meniscus in his left knee, but did not specify how long it will take to recover. He noted that “in the next few days the treatment to follow will be determined.”
Fati had to be replaced after the break against Betis after a tackle by Aissa Mandi in the penalty area.
The attacker emerged as one of the great promises of the Red.
The federation had announced on Saturday that Arsenal’s Héctor Bellerín will replace Jesús Navas, who was injured in a match with Sevilla.
