Prosecutor extradites Arturo Beltrán Leyva’s cousin to the United States

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) extradited Gerónimo Gámez García, “Geremías” or “San Mateo”, operator of the Beltrán Leyva cartel, to the United States, who is required by a federal District court for the Northern District of Illinois for criminal association and crimes against health.

Gámez García, identified by the authorities as the cousin of Arturo Beltrán Leyva “El Barbas”, former leader of the cartel, and was identified because between 2005 and October 2016 he dedicated himself to directing, managing and monitoring drug trafficking activities of the organization in the Northern District of Illinois where cocaine from Mexico and Colombia was distributed.

His delivery took place at the International Airport of Toluca, State of Mexico, where he was received by the US agents designated to be transferred to Chicago, Illinois.
