The owner of Coco Frutti located at 1185 ch Du Tremblay, in Longueuil, distributes free meals to the community over four days. He thus follows in the footsteps of the team at the lunch restaurant in the Arr. of Saint-Hubert and other establishments in the chain across Quebec.
A team volunteered to distribute take-out meals to everyone who came to the restaurant on November 11 and 12, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. She will do the same next week, November 18 and 19.
In the midst of the second wave of the pandemic, when some citizens have lost their jobs, officials wanted to offer some comfort in this way.
The experience at Coco Frutti in arr. de Saint-Hubert, on boul. Cousineau, was also a “big success”, rejoices Sophie Patry, director of operations. Between 100 and 150 meals per day were distributed over 4 days in November.
This gesture of solidarity is an initiative of the president of Coco Frutti, James Akbari. “He believes that we will go through the pandemic even stronger if we help each other,” says Ms. Patry.
