With the objective of increase the quality of education on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP), through the Undersecretary of Higher Education, and the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT), signed a collaboration agreement.

The agreement contemplates the organization of academic exchanges to increase the life experiences of Isthmus students, in addition to collaborations to comply with Social Service, the opportunity to dedicate themselves to scientific investigation and have the possibility to study a distance running.
Collaboration also represents a follow-up to the attention to the right to education in the region of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, which also establishes the creation of the University of Coatzacoalcos, in order to meet the demand for this educational level in the region.
Luciano Concheiro Bórquez, Undersecretary of Higher Education, said that, in this way, SEP joins social inclusion and well-being that is sought in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, since the Institutions of Higher Education (IES) They will participate in promoting training, technology, culture and scientific innovations related to the Interoceanic Corridor.
Stressed that These actions will allow the development of the communities of the 46 municipalities of Oaxaca and the 33 of Veracruz, that will bring important investments.
For its part, Rafael Marín Mollinedo, Director General of CIIT, He mentioned that there is a definitive link between the potential for the development of a region and the training of people that allows the local population to occupy permanent and well-paid job positions.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García Jiménez, commented that with the signature of the agreement will link all megaprojects to social and economic development, with the participation of the academy and Higher Education.
While, Pedro Matar Orraca, representing the Governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat stressed that they have worked in a coordinated manner, with the premise of social inclusion, and detailed that the Interoceanic Corridor implies areas of social and economic opportunity, which include the original towns, with the most important premise being the education sector.
